3D Clay

I used a clay medium for my project and I based it off a pinch pot. I made a whale based off the vineyard vines whale. I painted it pink and did not glaze it.
Kiln: An oven use to fire clay
Firing clay: To heat up the clay so it becomes glassware
Score and slip: To put cuts in the clay and put wet clay on two edges of a clay piece to make one.

Perspective

For my perspective piece I used one point perspective. For my process I made two lines that went from one side of the paper to another and that was the street and from there I just added things in. Sorry I couldn't find the picture of my piece.

Printmaking

My favorite linoleum print.

Shadow Art

I used a fake skull, a telephone and string for my shadow art project. We used a sprite bottle as a green filter but then we decided not to use it. We had difficulties hanging the skull from the ceiling. Day 2 turned out much better.

Land Art

Our group came up with the idea of making AHS out of sticks and leaves because we have such school spirit. For this project we used leaves, sticks and grass, we used these materials because they were available to us.

Stenciled Selfie

Non-objective art is art that wouldn't normally be classified as art, it is very unlike most other art pieces. I used it in my project by using just black and white cut-outs o my face.

Contour lines

I used pencil and paper for my project, I used them because they looked good. My planning was just drawing them in my notebook. I'm proud of the fireworks I drew. If I could redo one thing it would be to just change my second drawings theme.

Relief work

Relief is a type of art where the art is raised off a flat plane so it is 3D or where it is sunken into the flat plane. There are three different types of relief; low and high relief, counter-relief and sunk relief. I picked a koala because they're one of my favorite animals. I am most proud of the colors of my koala I feel like I did a good job mixing the colors. If I could change one thing I would probably make a Pokemon instead because It looks like more fun.

stenciled selfi

Non-objective art has no point, does not represent any place, form or thing, it is abstract. I used nonobjective art in my piece as a background for my stenciled picture of my face, the colors really bring out the white of the stenciled face.

AHS Land Art

Our group came up with the idea because we all have such school spirit and love Apex! We used leaves, sticks and branches because that provides contrast on the concrete.

color project

My three objects are my Xbox, speakers and football. I love to play video games and watch Netflix on my Xbox. I drew speakers because music is a big part of my life. I chose a football because i love to play it, I have been playing football for 7 years. This is a picture of an entertainment system with an Xbox and some speakers plugged into the t.v. There is a football lying on the wall, the wall was a creamy white color, the speakers were black and the Xbox was gray. Sorry for losing my painted one!

I used a monochromatic color scheme of Red and black for NC State and I chose markers because I thought markers would look best for this project.

A new Vincent Van Gogh landscape

Newly discovered Vincent Van Gogh Painting
                                                             September 24, 2013

A Van Gogh painting was recently discovered. It was in someone's attic, it had been twice rejected as a Van Gogh and once by the Van Gogh museum. Being reviewed again evidence now suggests the art experts were wrong. The painting was made in 1888 of a Landscape showing a beautiful landscape. A reference has even been found by the artist to the painting of the landscape. It will be on display in Amsterdam from 24 September.

Vincent Van Gogh was a post impressionist paint we who was Dutch. His work was well known for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color. He had a far reaching influence on 20th Century art. He died from a gunshot wound, most believe he shot himself. He began drawing as a child then grew up and became an artist. In just over a decade he made over 2100 artworks, and in his last two years of life he created his best works including the recently discovered landscape.
